Kayson completed a Masters Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Brigham Young University. Following graduation he was invited to join the conducting faculty for the 2006-2007 season. Mr. Brown has directed orchestras throughout Utah and beyond including the Omaha Symphony, Round Rock Symphony, all five BYU Orchestras, The University of Utah Philharmonia, Symphony, and New Music Ensemble, Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, Brevard Music Center Orchestra, Savior of the World pit orchestra, The Pearl Awards Orchestra, Pleasant Grove Civic Symphony, Celebration Chamber Orchestra, and Student Honors Orchestras in Salt Lake and Cache Counties. Kayson earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Cello Performance and has worked with some of the world's premier cellists including international soloist Natalie Clein, Marc Johnson of the Vermeer Quartet, and principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic, Carter Brey. Kayson is a member of the BYU cello faculty and teaches some of the state's most accomplished young cellists. Students from both his orchestra program and private studio regularly receive music scholarships at reputable university programs. He remains in demand as a conductor, educator, and performer.
