Logan, Karen
Karen Logan came to American Heritage School in 2008 excited to teach science at a faith based school. She loves teaching science that is founded in the gospel and shares her testimony in each class. Currently, she is teaching Kindergarten through 5th grade science, but has taught Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, AP Biology, and 8th grade science at AHS. She has a Master’s Degree in Science Education from Western Governors University (Oct. 2012); a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology (emphasis in Marine Biology) from Brigham Young University (Aug, 1993), and professional teaching credentials in science/life science and language/academic development from the University of San Diego and California State University, Sacramento. Prior to AHS, Mrs. Logan was a science teacher and science department head at Mitchell Middle School, Folsom-Cordova California Unified School District, from 1998 to 2005. Mrs. Logan loves SCUBA diving (she is a certified dive master with the Professional Association of Dive Instructors), art, music, reading, camping, hiking, and sports of all kinds. Mrs. Logan and her husband, Wayne, are the parents of three children, Jeffrey, Benjamin and Karley, all of which attend AHS. They currently live in Provo, Utah.
