Jake Earnest comes to American Heritage from Utah Valley University where he has been teaching as an adjunct professor of English 1010, 2010, and 2020, as well serving as an English/Writing tutor and a Program Coordinator for DWS Summer Youth Programs. With a bachelor’s degree in English Creative Writing, a Minor in Theatre from BYU-Idaho, and a master’s degree in Education from UVU, Jake takes every opportunity he can to teach, and has even been teaching seminary and institute classes for the past six years. Jake had a country upbringing in Oregon where he enjoyed raising pigs, hunting, and camping. He served an LDS mission to British Columbia, Canada, and still says "eh" occasionally. Jake loves his family, sports, theatre, movies, good friends, pancakes with hot dogs, and a good book. Jake says that his greatest love is the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he is looking forward to being an instrument in the Lord’s hands as a teacher at American Heritage.
