Kerry has over 10 years of teaching experience with students of all ages, most recently (since 2009) as a full-time elementary school teacher at Challenger School in grades 2-4. She loves children, and she loves teaching. Kerry Nielsen was born in southern California and has lived in Oregon, Arizona, and Utah. She first discovered her love of teaching through serving a mission in Tallahassee, Florida, and subsequently teaching at the MTC. With a degree from BYU in Psychology (emphasis in Human Resource Management), Mrs. Nielson’s experience prior to elementary school teaching includes five years of experience in directing human resource management issues for hundreds of client companies, followed by an additional five years of adjunct teaching at Merced College in various human resource management classes. She has been drawn to American Heritage School’s mission and culture for many years, and comes with outstanding references from administrators, colleagues, and parents in the Challenger School and American Heritage School communities. Kerry and her husband, Ryan, live in Cedar Hills with their three children.
